Seventh Jedediah Smith Trail 1827
Map of seventh Jedediah Smith Trail
This year I am following again the trail of Jedediah Smith in the year 1827, when he set off for his south west expedition. I will follow his trails also in the oncoming years until his death in 1831 by Comanches.
Unfortunately pretty much everything goes wrong this time. Therefore I only have three days in Sequoia National Park and one day north of Kings Canyon. Jedediah followed Kings River to hunt for beavers. This way he slowly made his way up north through the San Joaquin Valley. I will still have to follow his paths along the side valleys the oncoming years. But for this year I already have to start my return way via St. Louis to Pittsburgh.
