Day 3: August 26th, 2008 Pittsburgh (Chevrolet Dealer)

This night I have not slept very well. Around half past twelve and around four in the morning I woke up and needed the bathroom. Maybe it was due to the Ibuprofen I took yesterday evening because of my headaches. Unfortunately I am not able to fall asleep again at four in the morning. Around 7am I get up and make myself ready.

Then I am back to my software. Today I install the DeLorme Topo Maps. To my surprise there are also all roads I need available and it looks perfect. After playing around for a while I figure out how I can import my waypoints. Unfortunately most of them are pretty much off the roads. So I have no other choice than to rework every single waypoint manually.

Therefore it really doesn’t bother me when my dealer tells me around 4pm that my truck will not be ready until tonight. Certainly, they must put on the other tires because the old ones will hit the upper axle support when the steering is at its limit. Also my left rear axle is not good and needs to be replaced! This really amazes me, but I have no other choice. And the brakes must be replaced because of the leaking oil. Tomorrow morning my truck should be ready.

I say thank you to Jay and take again care of my endless waypoints. In the meantime I develop a good routine and slowly make progress. Around 6pm we have dinner again. Today it is pork with green beans and pasta. Then I continue my work on the waypoints. Around 9pm I make myself ready to go to bed. I am simply way too tired. Let’s see how things will work out tomorrow…
