Zebulon Montgomery Pike Trail to the sources of the Mississippi 1805 — 1806

Day 0: August 10th, 2002 Munich (Check–In)

I have heard a lot of good things about the pre evening check in. As i don’t have my silver status anymore to check in at the business counter I decide to give it a try. I arrive at the airport around half past seven. After they checked my suitcase at three different locations (everyone tolds my a different place to check in) I eventually arrive at the right counter.

But there is the next surprise: I am only able to check in for my transatlantic flight. I would have to check in again for my connecting flight from Chicago. The alternative is to deposit my suitcase here for a fee and I can check in tomorrow as usual — great, this was a real good idea to try it…

I decide to check in today and do another check in at Chicago. Pretty disappointed I drive back home. Looks like a great start again…
