Stephen H. Long Trail 1819 — 1820
Day 7: August 30th, 2008 Pittsburgh (Car Work)
Today I have slept really bad. Maybe this was due to my headaches yesterday. But today it is okay and so I start my remaining work. First I drive over to Pep Boys to get some more stuff. Then I suddenly have the idea that I could change the lighting wiring the same way as I did it on my Cherokee back home. This should keep me busy for another couple of hours. So I buy everything I need. Only from the relays they have just one left. The other two will be ordered for me and should arrive around 4pm. They will call me as soon as they are there.
I say thank you and drive to David. There I have a brief chat with him before I finish my wiring on the roof. Also this takes way longer than expected. The hole in there I am now sealing with a lot of silicone. Let’s see if this is getting sealed again.
Then I start the new lighting wiring. This one is as daffy as the one on my Cherokee. It really looks to me as if these trucks have a lot in common. The wiring keeps me then up again way longer as expected. It takes me until 6pm when I am ready to insert the relays. Now it’s time to get to Pep Boys.
Indeed, they haven’t called me yet, but the parts have arrived. Around half past eight I am eventually finished with my work. I clean everything up, adjust my lights and drive back home. Now I quickly jump under the shower and around half past nine I drive again to the Lone Star Steakhouse. It tasted even better yesterday than in the Outback and they also have my Thousand Island dressing.
Back home I do my motel reservations first, then a bunch of emails. Just before midnight I am eventually able to go to bed.
