Sullivan, Clinton and Broadhead Trail 1779
Day 23: September 25th, 2000 Pittsburgh (Car Work)
I have breakfast at the Bob Evans as usual. Then I drive to Wal–Mart to get some stuff for rust protection. Next I search the phone book for junk yards who might have the missing skid plate under the oil pan.
I discover one who is specialized on SUVs. After a little bit of searching I find his location. First it doesn’t look good. But eventually the employee finds the right vehicle. He unmounts the skid plate and I walk back to the cashier. They only charge $20. I expected to pay way more!
I am driving back to my motel, happy to have the skid plate. Now my friend tells me that I can start to work in his garage. I drive over and start first to fix the torn sheet at the spare tire holder. Unfortunately there is so much torque on it that it would not help to cover the crack with filler. So I give some silicone a try to keep at least the water out of the frame.
Then I start to work on a rusty spot on the roof. I don’t have the time to do it right, but at least the worst is covered. My friend is also back and he invites me to have some Spaghetti with him, cool!
